Overview
z6ne ("the App") is a location-based multiplayer game. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Data We Collect
Data You Provide
- Account information — Email address and password used to create your account
- Display name — Your in-game username
- Friends list — Other players you choose to connect with
Data Collected Automatically
- Precise location (GPS) — Required for core gameplay. Your GPS coordinates are used to place you on the game map, determine zone boundaries, calculate proximity to other players, and resolve combat. Location is collected while the app is in use and during active matches.
- Device information — Device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers for authentication and crash reporting.
- Gameplay data — Match results, scores, XP earned, equipment owned, and in-game actions for progression tracking and server-side validation.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect photos or video from your camera. The AR camera view is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted or stored.
- We do not collect contacts, messages, or call logs.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Location Data
Location data is central to z6ne's gameplay. Specifically:
- When collected: Only while the app is open and you are in an active match or lobby.
- Precision: GPS coordinates accurate to approximately 1 meter.
- Shared with other players: Your approximate position is visible to other players in the same match on the game map. This is required for gameplay.
- Retention: Real-time location data is not stored after a match ends. We do not maintain a history of your locations.
- Background location: The app may request background location access to maintain gameplay when the app is briefly backgrounded during an active match. Location tracking stops when the match ends.
You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. The app cannot function without location access.
Third-Party Services
Data Retention
- Account data — Retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
- Gameplay data — Retained while your account is active for progression continuity.
- Location data — Not retained after match completion. Real-time only.
Data Security
- All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted via TLS.
- Authentication is managed through AWS Cognito with industry-standard security practices.
- Combat and gameplay actions are server-authoritative to prevent tampering.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent for location tracking (which will prevent gameplay)
- Export your data upon request

Children's Privacy
z6ne is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
